Parenting

We all wish that our children would come into this world with an instruction book but regrettably
they don’t …

Being aware that we are learning as we ‘grow’ along, how confident are we in the decisions that we take? Are we strong enough to stand by what we believe is right, or do we prefer to turn a blind eye to worrying signs?

How do we overcome the guilt that as parent we often feel? Is it possible to be the perfect parent? When we were growing up who was our role model? Are we happy about the role model that we are?

How do you show love for your child? Can your child feel your love?

In the last 20 years there has being a radical change in our lives and many people have decided to have children later in life. Often families reach a point where teenagers need to try their wings and to take risks … and at the same time older parents are beginning to look at the later phases of their lives, where safety is paramount. Bridging these two conflicting ends of the spectrum can be stressful and painful.

If you are a parent with a daughter or son of any age, I can help you find the answers to some of these questions and to make changes where they are needed.

Maybe you are just starting parenthood and are feeling overwhelmed and confused …

Your child might be starting school and new values are coming into your home …

Your child might be a teenager and has no understanding of freedom and responsibility. She or he has become a stranger and your feelings are so overpowering that you don’t recognise yourself …

She or he might be leaving home …

There may be sibling conflicts …

The relationship between you has broken down …

Or you might be at a stage in your life where you would like to make peace with uncomfortable feelings …

These are just a few of the many issues that we can transform together. Sometimes changing the way in which we communicate can change confrontation into co-operation …

If you are reading this page then it is likely that you are concerned about the issues facing parents today.  We all want to do our best for our children but raising children can be challenging.  You are invited to contact Samya now for an open conversation about what is important to you right now.
